..Storm! This is what you achieve when a team of men and support crew are completely unselfish. When accountability and contribution is your daily mantra. When compliance to the required training modalities is habit and not expectation. When the telling off or showing of disappointment to keep each other on track comes from a teammate and not the coaching staff. When the standards of all create belief in success not writing statements of belief in each other! Cowboys outstanding! Storm clinical and thorough. Both teams drilled in execution but plenty of flair. Storm just have a consistency of performance which reflects a deep undercurrent of strong but evolving culture. Don’t worry about the big 3. Those other 10 men lay a platform which allows them to do their thing..
If you scroll down to the culture article by Janssen, you decide what type of culture Storm has and if it works.
Strong evidence based structures and performance programs are considerable influences with regard to program compliance and player acceptance or “buy in” to your skill, physical and mental fitness programs. Periodization to success: This is my first step, providing a professional strategic development plan which records the existing base level of physical fitness for the team and skill development requirements. Utilising measurable and repeatable methods of testing and recording to indicate current levels of fitness and skill competence. Incorporating this data and metric to adapt in appropriate increments through the program and progress to set goals within realistic and attainable timelines.
Set your goals! Start with short term to build into long range results. Base your exercise on Honest and Real expectations, note I never said "achievable", trust me....you have no idea how much you will achieve....yet!
Remember real goals, if you're a bit on the skinny side, you will have to enter a world of dedication and discipline if you want to look like Arnie. Same same if you're a bit bigger boned like Pavorotti and want to look like Brad Pitt in Fight Club!
The following article is outstanding! Being in Sport for all of my professional career I can identify with each of these cultures manifesting in success and failure and have seen clubs demonstrate each of them. During my masters studies this was presented. Have a read of this presented by the Janssen Sport Leadership Center. Don Singe
